  why do they say every one of them all over the world believes the same thing, but then they'll say that they personally don't believe a particular aspect of the doctrine?

  My JW thinks that Jimi Hendrix has a chance to be resurrected. He also "hopes" that I will be resurrected...

  It's funny, because I tell him things I've read on this forum that seem to be standard JW rules/regulations/rumors/lore and he looks at me like I'm nuts. I wonder if he really doesn't know or if it's that spiritual warfare stuff.

  "Special" Talk Outline for this Sunday?

  last night hubby told me that his brother (an elder) told him how "provocative" the outline for this sunday's special talk is.

  apparently it's something like "who is qualified to rule mankind" and goes on about how government is not qualified.

  he then asked me if i'd like to attend (ha ha).

  Great observation OTWO. I took a closer look at the outline last night and noticed the unusual emphasis on Jesus. It's becoming clearer now, just why hubby invited me. You've removed a few more scales from my eyes there, dear OTWO!

  in their condemnation of entertainment that contains witchcraft or sorcery, most witnesses i know seem willing to give mary poppins a free pass.

  no human should be able to do the things that she did.

  since she wasn't a worshipper of jehovah, the only explanation for her special powers is that they came from demons.

  How about the Wizard of Oz?! My hubby's mom used to let them watch that, but hubby freaked out about Harry Potter! I didn't quite (and still don't) understand how the Wicked Witch of the West and her flying monkeys are better than Harry & his friends?

  Carla, From what my JW intimated to me last night, it's special because "the same talk will be given around the world". I really don't know how that is different from any other Sunday, I mean, don't they all pull from the same schedule? That would make each WT session a "special WT session". As with everything to do with the WTBTS, I think it's all BS. Mrs. Witness
